Data Deletion Instructions
This page explains how to request deletion of your personal data from SoulVeil, including data processed via your connected Instagram account. This information is provided for transparency in accordance with Art. 12 GDPR.
For Instagram Users
If you connected your Instagram account to SoulVeil via Instagram Login, you can request deletion of all data we collected through that connection using the methods below. Your account and all associated data are deleted immediately upon request; encrypted backup copies are cleared within our standard 90-day rotation.
If you cannot access your account, send an email to contact@soulveil.app with the subject line: "Data Deletion Request"
Include in your email:
- The email address associated with your SoulVeil account
- The Instagram account username you connected
- Your full name
- A brief description of what data you want deleted (e.g. "all data" or specific categories)
We will respond to your request within 5 business days to verify your identity and confirm the deletion. To prevent unauthorized deletions, we are required to verify your identity before carrying out the deletion; once confirmed, deletion is immediate.
Deleted immediately upon request
- Your account and login credentials
- Connected social media tokens (OAuth — secure login credentials, never your password)
- Filter settings and preferences
- Subscription and billing information
- All comment archive data and behavioral pattern history
Cleared within 90 days
- Encrypted backup copies of the above (standard backup rotation)
Note: We may retain minimal data (e.g. documentation of the deletion performed) where this is necessary to comply with legal obligations (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR) or to safeguard legitimate interests (e.g. abuse prevention). This data is stored securely and not used for any other purpose.
In individual cases, complete removal from backups may be delayed for technical reasons, but will take place no later than within the time limit stated above.
Also Remove Access on Instagram
To remove SoulVeil's access to your Instagram account directly from Instagram:
- 01Open Instagram → tap your profile → tap ☰ (menu) → Settings and privacy
- 02Go to Account → Linked accounts, or Security → Apps and websites
- 03Find "SoulVeil" in the list and tap "Remove" to revoke access
Revoking access on Instagram automatically triggers deletion of your SoulVeil data through Meta's deletion callback. If you'd prefer to confirm or request deletion manually, you can also use the methods described above.
Automatic deletion when disconnecting via Instagram
If you remove SoulVeil directly through your Instagram account settings, Meta automatically notifies us. In this case, we automatically delete all data associated with your account, without you needing to submit a separate deletion request. You won't receive a separate confirmation email for this, as this process runs directly between Instagram and SoulVeil.
Alternatively to deletion, under certain conditions you can also request a restriction of the processing of your data.
